As a Model Y owner and longtime admirer of Elon Musk’s brilliant mind, I always look forward to Tesla’s updates, especially their All-Hands meetings. I just finished watching the Q1 2025 All-Hands meeting, so here are my thoughts after watching it. Just what’s on my mind and how I feel.
When I first got my Model Y, the feeling was different from any other car I’ve owned. Before Tesla, I had both Japanese and European cars. They were nice, especially on the inside. It was well-built, stylish, and pretty comfortable. But the Model Y felt very different. The interior was clean and minimal, not flashy or overly designed, but everything was thoughtfully placed. It felt modern and super efficient, like it was made for real life, not just looks.
As a mom with two kids and two dogs, I’m constantly driving around for school, activities, errands - you name it. The Model Y makes it easier. I don’t have to stop at gas stations anymore. I just charge it at home while I sleep. It saves me so much time. And one of my favorite features is Dog Mode. It keeps my dog safe and comfortable when I need to leave him in the car for a few minutes. Cool during hot days, warm when it’s cold.
Another cool thing is that Tesla cars are super modifiable, which makes them even more useful for everyday life. I added a small refrigerator in the trunk so my kids can always have cold drinks and snacks after school or sports practice. It’s a small touch, but it makes a big difference on busy days. The Model Y isn’t just a car. It’s a little hub on wheels for my family.
Now, let’s talk about the All-Hands meeting.
Tesla has now made over 7 million vehicles, and Elon said they’re on track to hit 10 million next year. That’s incredible. It’s wild to think that this company started out making just 20 cars in their first year. The Model Y is the best-selling car in the world and not just electric, but any car.
Elon also shared a big-picture vision for the future. It's something he called sustainable abundance. It’s not just about clean energy anymore, but about making life better for everyone. A future where people have what they need, where energy is renewable, and where robots and AI help with everyday life. It honestly gave me goosebumps. It sounded like a sci-fi movie, but somehow, it felt within reach.
And yes, Optimus the robot is real. It can walk, catch things, and has one of the most advanced robotic hands ever made. Elon said Tesla plans to make thousands this year and maybe millions in the future. He believes it could become the biggest product ever made. It could be bigger than any phone or car.
Tesla’s also getting close to fully self-driving cars. Elon explained that most Teslas already have the hardware. With a software update, they could drive themselves completely. That’s wild. He said these cars could be 5 to 10 times more useful than regular ones because they can be used all the time. That one update could make millions of Teslas way more valuable - just like that.
There were other exciting updates too. The Powerwall 3, Megapacks, and Tesla’s own Dojo AI supercomputer are all coming along. And of course, the Cybertruck is already making waves with its five-star safety rating and the design.
But what stood out to me the most was Elon’s sense of hope and possibility. Even though the world feels crazy sometimes (he joked about Teslas being on fire in the news every day), his message was full of optimism. He believes we’re building a future with clean energy, smarter technology, and even space travel. And I believe him.
He ended with one of my favorite quotes of the whole event:
“One thing’s for sure. The future is going to be very interesting.”
I couldn’t agree more.
As someone who owns a Tesla and watches from the outside, I feel like I’m part of something much bigger. Tesla isn’t just a car company. It’s shaping the future. And I’m proud to be on this ride.
